What is Event Medical cover?

Event medical cover is a specialist service that provides event organisers first aid and medically trained staff to look after the patrons of their event should they need any first aid or medical interventions. Event medical cover can provide care for cuts, bruises, sprains or falls, to providing medical centres, ventilators, life saving interventions and much more.

Our event medical cover is designed to provide you support and bring some peace of mind knowing that those attending your event are well looked after.

How much medical cover will I need for my event?

There are a number of factors we take into account when suggesting the most appropriate level of cover for your event, these include things such as:

  • The type of event
  • Whether the event is indoors or outdoors
  • Who will be attending the event
  • How many people will be attending the event

Do you deal with the SAG / Local Authority ?

For widespread or larger events, we will also liaise with local NHS ambulance services as well as nearby hospitals to ensure your event runs smoothly. We also provide full medical plans for submission to the Local authority / SAG.

Can you help, if I've been letdown?

We sure can. If it's short notice, please give our on call team a call on 01823 793772 and press option (9), as soon as you can. We will do everything that we can to ensure your event can still go ahead.

What if my event is not listed in the things you cover?

Medsafe EMS cover events Nationwide with some exceptions to Northern Ireland and overseas. You can contact our events department on events@medsafeems.co.uk if you have any questions about cover. But all event companies are eligible for cover.

Do you do risk assessments?

Yes, Medsafe EMS will provide a pre-visit risk assessment and advise of risks your event may have.

We have staff with First Aid certificates, why do we need medical cover?

The organiser of any event has a duty of care to all people attending their event, the Health & Safety Executive stresses, just because a person has First Aid certification this does not qualify them as qualified to provide First Aid. The Event Safety Guide states:

‘Plan the provision of medical, ambulance and first-aid services along with the statutory services and appoint a competent organisation to provide medical management’ and ‘First aiders, ambulance and medical workers should: have relevant experience or knowledge of requirements for first aid at major public duties’
